The Gator Gazette

Gator Greetings
It was a short but mighty week at Allisonville as students finished up their end of year assessments, participated in many culminating projects, and had the opportunity to show their love and appreciation for their classmates and teachers. At Allisonville, we follow a proactive discipline and responsive classroom approach where students making good decisions are recognized. Many classrooms fulfilled their goals for the semester and were able to enjoy a class-wide celebration, whether it was a pajama party, dress up day, class auction, flashlight reading, or something else, these celebrations recognized students making good choices and doing the right thing. We emphasize every day being SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL, so this week we are especially PROUD OF YOU!
While students and staff are at home relaxing this break, there will be much activity at Allisonville. Each classroom will be outfitted with all new furniture including new student desks and chairs, teacher desks, and small group tables. This was part of our original renovation but became delayed due to supply chain challenges. The old furniture has been packed up and shipped down to communities in Kentucky that were impacted by the recent tornados. We are so happy to be able to donate our well-loved furniture with these communities as they work to rebuild.
Please note that our PTO has taken on a new and very impactful endeavor of Gator Giving, which will provide resources to families in need throughout the year. PTO states: Our Allisonville community has generously donated over $800 in just under two weeks to the new Gator Giving Fund to support students' and their families' emergent needs, including clothing, food, and shelter. The PTO will continue to match up to $2,000 in donations through the end of the year. Donate here (https://donate.chip-in.us/?nonprofitId=107280) and help us make sure our students have the tools they need to be successful next semester!
As the Pandemic rages on, we are so happy to share that school remains constant and engaging. At Allisonville, students are learning and growing every day and we are committed to keeping our routine consistent in the New Year. As you know, our academic rigor is high and our expectation for students is always The Allisonville Alligator Way. Thank for taking the time to support this at home because IT MATTERS. We hope you are proud to be part of our learning community and we thank families for their support.
I wish everyone a restful and peaceful Winter Break. It is my holiday wish that you can enjoy time with your child in a meaningful and unique way that does not happen during the busy weeks of school. Seasons Greetings! I look forward to seeing everyone back at AV in 2022.
