BSD Volunteer Update
Wednesday, March 11, 2020
Dear valued volunteers,
As you have probably heard, this morning Governor Jay Inslee issued an emergency proclamation requiring Pierce, King and Snohomish counties to cancel events where more than 250 people are gathered to help slow the spread of COVID-19. While Kitsap County was not included in this proclamation, things could change as the situation and recommendations are changing rapidly.
We currently do not have any confirmed COVID-19 cases in our district. However, we also want to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. As such, we are taking steps to prevent the further spread respiratory illnesses, including cold, flu, and COVID-19, by suspending volunteer activities in our schools beginning tomorrow through Sunday, April 5, 2020.
We value the contributions of our volunteers, but we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to suspend these services until further notice. The health and safety of our dedicated volunteers in our schools is very important to us.
We are joining many others around the region and the state in collective action by avoiding non-critical travel and group gatherings, in hopes of slowing down the spread of COVID-19 through "social distancing."
These decisions were made with your safety and the safety of our students and community in mind.
