If you don't already know, Africa has many amazing attractions. Some great examples are listed below, with information on the area. Many of these locations have many more attractions nearby than mentioned in the description, so be sure to explore and have fun!
Atlas Mountains
The Atlas Mountain range stretches an amazing 1,500 miles. The mountain range starts in southwest Morocco and ends in north Tunisia. The mountains northern slopes are very well watered resulting in farmland and forests taking up most of the slope. Southern slopes are covered in shrubbery and are known for their salt lakes and flats. Tourists enjoy biking and hiking in the region, while perhaps seeing one of the mountains waterfalls.
Congo River
The Congo river is known as one of the world's longest rivers. From start to end, the river flows a total of 2,720 miles through Zaire to the Atlantic Ocean. Congo river is also known as Africa's largest potential source for hydroelectric power. Many enjoy fishing the Congo and catching some of the exotic species of fish. Those who enjoy water activities may attempt to raft the river.
Serengeti Plain
The Serengeti Plain has altitudes from about 3,000 feet to 6,000 feet and posses some of the best grassland in central and east Africa. One of the many activities on the plain is going on a safari while hiking in the region. The Serengeti plain is known to have over 500 species of wildlife (on the plain of course)!
Great Rift Valley
The Great Rift Valley is a geological fault system that extends from central Mozambique to northern Syria. The lowest part of the valley has an altitude of 1,300 feet below sea level at the Dead Sea. In southern Kenya, the Great Rift Valley can reach 6,000 feet above sea level.
The Great Rift Valley contains many lakes, such as Crater Lake, and nearby national parks among many other attractions tourists will experience.
