The Weekly Hoot
January 14 - January 20, 2019
Greetings All -
We made it through the first week back! It seemed sooooo long! And I wasn't even here on Friday! LOL! We all have that three day weekend to look forward to though. Sorry this is so late. I got in last night at 11:45 PM from my trip to Nashville and have been testing 1st graders all day today!
I love how all of you came back rockin' and rollin' for the new year! Lots of great instruction going on, as well as testing for the end of the semester, as I was out and about last week. I wouldn't expect anything less of ya'll though. :)
Something that needs to be discussed that I have seen in person, as well as being mentioned by others, is that we have gotten very comfortable about being on our cell phones during the school day, as well as posting on Facebook. I definitely understand that when you have an emergency situation, you might need to use your phone, but I have come upon several people on their phone when they are supposed to be in charge of students. That is not okay. Please use your professional judgement about your phone, but also note that during meetings, during CLC, while you are in small groups, or when you are supposed to be instructing or supervising a student is not the time to be talking, texting, or Facebooking. Thank you!
Let's also remember as we start the new year to make sure we are on time picking up students from specials and the cafeteria. Also, all of you on cafeteria duty, please make sure that you are walking around and monitoring the tables. Most all grade levels now are able to get from the line to their table now so make sure that your area of attention is focused on walking through those tables and looking for "trouble spots. " :)
Last thing...I don't know how many of you saw on your Facebook invites, or if I remembered to click next to every single person's name, but ALL of you are invited this Saturday night to The Western for my 50th birthday party. My lifelong friend, Kelli Lara, and I are having it together. She turned 50 Friday and I turn 50 on the 31st so we are splitting the difference down the middle. I hope all of you and your significant others can come on out, eat a little cake and dance the night away to the Robbie Wooten Band. There is a $10 cover charge so be prepared. I would love to see all of you there, but only one rule...NO SCHOOL TALK! :))))) If you can't make it, I certainly understand.
Let's have a great week. It's going to get warm again, and then really cold! I have no idea how to dress anymore!
Love to all,
Marcy
