G.W.T. Weekly Newsletter
October 4, 2020
It's FALL! I love this time of year! The leaves are changing colors and the temperature is dropping. It is a super busy time of the year for everyone. Even though it is a busy time of the year, it is still very important that our students are at school on time each day. Research shows that chronic absenteeism can negatively affect reading proficiency, social and emotional development, academic confidence, and test scores. In a primary school like GWT, most of our reading instruction is in the morning, when students are most alert and active. We also schedule our Tiered levels of support during this time. So let's work together to make sure our students are at school learning each day.
We also have lots of fun activities planned for this month- Johnny Appleseed Day, Community Helper Week, Red Ribbon Week, Scarecrow Day and of course, this week- HOMECOMING! This week, lets show our TIGER SPIRIT by dressing up each day (see Spirit Days). GO TIGERS!

Cyber Tigers Connect!
Hey Cyber Tiger Parents and Students! Just a reminder- if you want your child to return to face to face instruction on October 19th, please contact the school office. It is important to call so we can prepare the classroom for your child.
This week we will be changing from the calendar activities to working in EDMENTUM. Instead of logging into the Google Classroom, you will need to click on the rainbow e in the CLEVER portal. Next, choose TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS (ABC123 Chalkboard) to view your assignments. The assignments are based on the critical standards for each subject area. Students will have all week to complete the assignments. This will also count as your attendance. All assignments must be completed by the end of the week (see due dates). Assignments will be posted each Monday.
Also, if you have questions or need support- please call the school office OR you can email firstname.lastname@example.org for support. Classroom teachers will not be creating and assigning work, so please use this email instead of contacting the classroom teacher.
Breakfast and Lunch
All students will eat breakfast and lunch free September 1st through December 2020!
