- Mercury melts at 38.83 degrees Celsius.
- Mercury boils when it reaches at least 356.73 degrees Celsius.
- At 20 degrees Celsius, Mercury is a liquid.
History
Mercury was found approximately around 1500 B.C. It was named after the planet Mercury. Mercury's chemical symbol comes from the Greek word hydragyrum, which means "liquid silver."
