Car Rider Reminders
PLEASE do pull up to the curb to drop off and pick up students. Our car rider lines are moving very quickly and efficiently now, and we find the lines move even faster when:
- Cars with Kindergarten and/or 1st Grade Students drop off Tigers only at the side entrance in the mornings.
- Cars without Kindergarten/1st Graders drop off Tigers at the main, front entrance.
- And when parents give Tigers their kisses and say "goodbyes" before we open your vehicle's door so that our Tigers can hop out and be on their way to class quickly.

Volunteering at the Book Fair is fun and rewarding. You'll have fun and help our Tigers to be better readers. Thank you for volunteering!

National BoxTops for Education Week--September 16 - 22
BoxTops for Education has a new app, and you can download it here. It's even easier to earn funds for WCHE through BoxTops because you can just scan your receipts containing BoxTops products, and WCHE will earn BoxTops funds! Each BoxTops product purchased through September 22 will earn DOUBLE the money when the receipt is scanned within two weeks of purchase.
Also, each scanned receipt earns one entry for WCHE to win $20,000. So, please download the app, select WCHE as your school, and start scanning receipts. And, check out the app for even more opportunities to earn funds for WCHE.
In addition to the new app, we still collect clipped BoxTops, and we appreciate your sending those clipped BoxTops to your child's teacher. Although BoxTops is transitioning to a digital system, the paper BoxTops are still valid and a welcome donation to our school. Thanks!

Discovery/Gifted and Talented Program Information for 2019-2020
The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for GT Screening via this google form.
Transfer students, who were already identified as GT coming from their previous district, should submit their google form as soon as possible, as the transfer student screening will be set within 30 days of the first day of school. Parents should send proof of their child's selection/participation in the previous GT program directly to the campus GT coordinator, Erika Serhus.
Current WCHE parents can submit referrals for screening up until the end of the first 9 weeks, by the date of October 10. Current WCHE students will be tested during the 2nd 9 weeks. If the referral and permission forms are not submitted by the deadline, the student will have to wait until the next year's screening opportunity to screen, as the spring screening session is only for students moving in new to the district after the fall testing window is closed.
The forms and further information about the program can be found here.
Once the request is submitted through the google form. the GT coordinator will contact parents via email when the testing dates are set and share other pertinent information as well.
You are also welcome to contact your campus GT coordinator at any time with questions.
We look forward to supporting your gifted and talented student!
A special request from our neighbors....
Vehicles driving and/or parking on the median break the sprinkler heads.
Let's be good neighbors and park only in the school's parking lots, and, if the lots are full, park on the street next to the curb. Thank you!
