#C6edtech Resources:
Week of 9.14.15
Welcome to a new school year of #C6edtech Resources! This year's blog has a new format and will be delivered bi-weekly, instead of weekly, as it has been published in the past. This year, my blog will consist of tech tips and how-to's, technology integration tips, videos and information on all things Google, and important information and reminders.
BYOD Expectations
Students in our middle and high schools have the opportunity to participate in our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. One of the keys to success with any new initiative is clear expectations. Be sure to be communicate clear and consistent expectations to your students who bring their personal devices to school. Click here for a printable copy of the BYOD expectations poster.
Online Professional Development Requests
As you begin to apply to attend professional development this year, don't reach for the old triplicate visitation request; the new professional development request form is now online and living on the district web page. Click here for a video demonstrating how to fill out the PD request for.

Ramp up Formative Assessment with Plickers
Plickers, short for paper clickers, is a free, web-based student response system that is an excellent formative assessment tool for the 1 iPad or 1 smartphone classroom. To use Plickers, a teacher can add his or her students to classes by copying and pasting names from a class list and assigning each student a specific Plickers card number, print out Plicker cards, and add questions on the Plickers website. When you are ready to assess students, simply have them hold up their Plickers card based on their answer, scan the 4-sided paper clickers with a smartphone or tablet, and all student responses will be reported to you on your device and on the Plickers website. After completing an assessment, the teacher can view and print reports to see how students did on the assessment.
Click here for a YouTube video that demonstrates this process for you. Click here for more information about Plickers.
Use Folders to Organize and Share Google Docs
As more and more teachers and students begin using Google Docs and Drive to create, store, and share files and folders, it is important to think about how to organize all of those files and folders being stored and shared in Google Drive. The video below demonstrates how to organize documents into folders and share folders with other Google users.
