Valentine's Party - Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who sent in items and donated their time to make our Valentine's Day party so successful. We had such a wonderful time - definitely one to remember! If you weren't here, Mr. Boykin wasn't able to make it to the BINGO segment of the party, however, we did have a wonderful BINGO emcee - Dr. Valentine! (see pic)

Without love, do you have grit?
Mr. Boykin discovered a quote from author Jon Gordon (The Energy Bus) this week. It has made us reframe our thinking when it comes to grit because this statement rings true. If kids don't love what they're doing, they won't put the effort to become great at it...and you can't force love. Students may feel okay about a subject, such as writing, so they won't show that grit, they won't show that extra effort to keep trying and trying until they master it. This has led us to think of questions such as "What can we do to make students have that love for certain subjects?" "What if they don't develop that love?"

LEAD With GCISD
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has adopted an electronic flyer distribution program called Peachjar. With the new system, flyers from community organizations will be distributed through a weekly email and accessible through the school websites. This is part of our ongoing effort to focus resources on education while reducing the environmental impact of our activities.
GCISD parents will receive a welcome email from Peachjar that includes a username and password. This is provided to give parents the opportunity to manage their account and flyer delivery preferences. To view a list of Frequently Asked Questions, click here and select the appropriate tab for PARENTS.
