CFLC Resource Library - A Torrington Public Schools Family Outreach Resource Library

Each month learn about Torrington Public Schools programs as well as community agencies. Read informational parenting articles and watch parenting/educational videos. Find out what is new is our CFLC Resource Library and watch a book trailer that highlights one of our favorite books.


The Community Family Learning Center (CFLC) is a Torrington Public Schools community and family outreach project designed to support parents/caregivers and educators in early childhood education.


The Community Family Learning Center is located at KidsPlay Children's Museum and offers an educational resource library as well as FREE educational learning opportunities for parents/caregivers and early childhood educators.

The Community Family Learning Center is a grant funded project which is supported through a collaboration between the Torrington Public Schools and KidsPlay Children's Museum as well as other community agencies.

Meet the Community Family Learning Center Librarians

Paula Gajewski

CFLC Coordinator, Educator, & Resource Librarian


Paula has worked for Torrington Public Schools since 2011 as an educator, coordinator, and librarian for the Community Family Learning Center located at KidsPlay Children's Museum. Paula loves to read and loves to help families find books and resources that will be helpful to them. Prior to working for TPS, Paula was a K & 1 classroom teacher and Literacy Specialist. Currently Paula works with incoming kindergarten children and families for Torrington Public Schools by connecting families to the schools and community providers. She supports the kindergarten registration process by coordinating programs such as the Kindergarten Fair, Meet & Greet at KidsPlay and more! Kristin Ercoli

CFLC Library Services Specialist


Kristin is a resident of Torrington, and is excited to join the CFLC team! She has five children, four that are currently enrolled in Torrington public schools. She is an avid reader. Before being a mom, she enjoyed the time she spent working in bookstores. She just started learning Spanish in hopes to soon communicate better with more families in the community.

Letters Are Characters Torrington Library Program

For all incoming Torrington Public Schools Kindergarten students:


The Torrington Public Schools and the Torrington Library are collaborating to bring you a grant funded program to help parents help their children become better prepared for kindergarten.


Letters are Characters is a mostly on-line program that helps children to become better prepared for learning to read. The program is FREE for all incoming kindergarten students and runs from May 2nd-May 24th.

KidsPlay Children's Musuem

KidsPlay opened its doors more than 10 years ago and since then has added many fun interactive exhibits and programs. It is a fun place to bring children (ages 6 mo -12yrs+) to play and be a kid! Please check online for hours and learn how to register to play. KidsPlay accepts SNAP cards for reduced cost. Contact KidsPlay by calling (860) 618-7700.
