2nd Grade Fun!
Spelling Pattern for the week:
This week we are focusing on the short (i) in the cvc (consonant, vowel, consonant) pattern and long (i) sound with the pattern of cvce (consonant, vowel, consonant silent e) pattern.
Spelling does not stop after the spelling test. Please help your child find other words that have the same pattern.
***Spelling words, games and practice test may be found on spellingcity.com. Look for Word Study 2***
Science this week
Over the next few weeks, students will be working to answer the question: What does it mean to be healthy?
Throughout this unit, students will show their learning by:
designing and creating a health museum that explains important health information
communicating information about personal health habits and safety rules
setting personal health goals
We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. You can support your child’s learning by talking with your child about this unit and encouraging her/him to ask questions and think hard.
We are looking forward to our second graders embarking on their journey of learning!
Sincerely,2nd Grade Teachers
