Student Personal Item Retrieval

Teachers will be going to the school beginning the week of May 4 to place students' personal items in bags, and organize them for parent pick-up. We will need to follow social distancing rules, so with over 1,100 students, it will take some time to cycle through all of the classrooms to gather belongings. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. There will be advertised times for parents to pick up personal items and drop off books or other school materials beginning the week of May 18.

Kinder & PreK Registration Information

PfISD will be conducting a contactless registration process for pre-kindergarten and new-to-PfISD kindergarten students for the 2020-21 school year.

Registration packets may be picked up at student home campus (based on home address). If you do not know your assigned campus, please click here. Campus personnel will not be available on packet pick-up and drop-off dates to answer questions. Questions, however, may be emailed to the campus registrar (Steven.Ray@pfisd.net). Questions regarding pre-kindergarten may be emailed to PreK@pfisd.net

Registration packets may be picked from home campuses on the following dates:

  • Monday, May 4 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Tuesday, May 5 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or Wednesday, May 6 (4-6 p.m.)

Completed registration packets may be returned to home campuses on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 6 (4-6 p.m.), Thursday, May 7 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or Friday, May 8 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Library Book Drop Off Information

You will be able to drop off any of our school's library books on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, May 4 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Tuesday, May 5 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or Wednesday, May 6 (4-6 p.m.)

  • Wednesday, May 6 (4-6 p.m.), Thursday, May 7 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or Friday, May 8 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Medication Pick-Up - May 6 and 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This will be done through a curbside pick-up process with no contact. Please have your student's name on a piece of paper in the window when you drive up to the front of the school.

Once these times have passed, medications will be discarded as they are at the end of every school year per policy.

ar quizzes for 2nd - 5th

Another enrichment opportunity has been added for our 2nd thru 5th graders! During the closure, students may take Accelerated Reader (AR) Quizzes from home through Clever. Unfortunately, due to equity, we will not be able to offer any class or school-wide incentives for quizzes taken and words read during the closure. We invite you to use this program as extra enrichment. Feel free to celebrate your child’s successes within your family!

BRIGHT BYTES SURVEY

We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research organization, to learn more about you and your students’ technology access and use for learning.

The goal of this project is to gather data on technology access, skills, and your school’s technology environment, in order to understand the connection between technology use and student achievement.

Our data collection window is set to run from now to May 27, 2020.

There is one designed for students, and one designed for parents.

Your questionnaire links are listed below:

Your participation and support is important to us and will make the difference between having a complete understanding of our school’s technology use versus a limited one.

Morning Announcements on the Mott Facebook Page

Morning announcements are a big deal at Mott. We love to start our day with the pledges, some fun, reminders, etc. We have found a way to continue that tradition within our current situation. Morning announcements will be video taped and put on the Mott Elementary School Facebook page at 8:00 a.m. every school day. Tune in then, or watch them later. We will continue the announcements each week!
