Swansboro High School
Weekly Updates - March 15, 2020
School closures can be a stressful time for students and families but at Swansboro High School, we are committed to a continuity of support and instruction for our students. Teachers will be working to create online instructional resources on Monday and Tuesday during teacher workdays. Students should expect to log in to teams for daily presentations and assignments starting on Wednesday.
Parent meetings this week will also move online. We were scheduled to host strategic planning, project graduation and our rising freshmen orientation tomorrow. Those meetings will now be held virtually. While we will provide information now, we will reschedule the rising 9th grade parent meeting as soon as possible.
We will maximize support for our students during this time. Our student services team will conduct 1-1 virtual scheduling sessions with 9th-11th grade students over the next two weeks. Your student can sign up to build their schedule for the 2020/2021 school year by completing the following link:

Thank you to our Pirate Parents who spoiled staff with a luncheon on Thursday. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated. While spring sports is on hold we had a great week in athletics. Congratulations to our lacrosse team who had their season opener on Monday night at West Carteret. They lost by 1 point but played an amazing game. JV and varsity softball beat Croatan on Tuesday and varsity soccer prevailed over New Hanover. JV and varsity softball won their games against Dixon on Friday night.
Congratulations goes to our students selected to participate in the 2020 North Carolina Governor's School. They include Abigail Bamber, Emily Boyd and Garrett Thompson!
A special thank you today goes to our Swansboro Dairy Queen for sponsoring our March assemblies with coupons for our students who were recognized for their outstanding efforts.
We will keep you posted in the coming days. Thank you for your continued support for our school community.
