Characteristics

  • Second largest satellite

  • Titan, at 5,150 km diameter, is the second largest moon in the Solar System and Saturn's largest.

  • Out of all the large moons it has less air than earth.

  • Titan only one with dense (surface pressure of 1.5 atm)

  • Cold atmosphere

  • Primarily of nitrogen with small fraction of methane.

  • Diameter of 3,200 miles

  • Larger than planet mercury

  • Roughly equal amount of rock

  • Water ice

  • Dense atmosphere about 1.5 times larger than earth
