Westville Middle/High School
Inspire. Challenge. Educate.
A note from Mrs. Schnick...
Happy January Westville families and welcome back! I, along with the rest of the staff, were so excited to see all of our students as they returned Monday. I hope everyone had a great holiday and some down time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate.
As a reminder, students who want to work fully virtual must have a parent or guardian contact administration to apply no later than January 8. Our fully virtual program does not include live instruction and is done independently by a student online through a program called Edmentum. Students must be approved by administration to be eligible and will be committed through the end of the school year.
January 17 is a scheduled eLearning Day. Students should log on and complete all assigned work on this date.
We have five new staff members joining us this semester! Mr. Horn (Algebra II), Mrs. Bules (English 10), Mr. Kutch (Blackhawk Academy), Mrs. Klein (art), and Mrs. Markos (Middle/High School Secretary). We are very excited to welcome everyone and look forward to them working with our students.
I wanted to remind families about our After School Assistance Program (ASAP) that will continue throughout the year. ASAP is a program designed for students in grades 7-12 to get additional academic support. This includes one hour of one-on-one time with a teacher in his or her classroom. Students can bring homework to work on, assignments to get help with, or remedial work will be provided to help your child in an area that he or she may be struggling in (The remedial work will be done through an online program that starts a student at their current academic level and progresses them forward as they answer problems correctly. This is not homework). We STRONGLY recommend ALL students take advantage of this great program. As a parent or guardian, we are asking for your support to encourage your child to attend especially if he or she is struggling. ASAP is on Mondays and Wednesdays for an hour before and after school. Students may attend morning sessions, after school sessions, or both! The January ASAP schedule is listed below.
At the secondary level we have set two academic goals for the school year. To read about our goals and team meetings, click here:

We are currently on Yellow status. This means masks must be worn. Please make sure your child has his or her mask everyday and wears it properly. Thank you!
Yours in education,
Alissa Schnick
