UNITY DAY | OCTOBER 21

Our first Unity Day will take place on Wednesday, October 21st. On this day we wear orange to come together against bullying, and stand united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Please encourage your students to wear orange and promote kindness. This Unity Day's topic is Identity. We want to know what makes our students unique. In order for our students to celebrate their identity, we have created a contest for students to express themselves. Check out the below flyer for more details!

Harvest for the Hungry Kids Helping Kids Virtual Campaign October 1–November 25, 2020

Together we can unite to fight hunger in Anne Arundel County!

- Food insecurity impacts a child's ability to learn
- Every dollar collected is equivalent to 8 pounds of food
- COVID-19 increased the number of needy families in our community
- In Anne Arundel County, 1 in 8 families struggle with food insecurity

Awards are given to schools that collect the most funds, including an award for the most funds collected by a school with less than 350 students. Be sure to select your school to ensure they get credit for your donation! Your monetary donation will make a difference for families throughout our school and community. Proceeds directly benefit the Anne Arundel County Food & Resource Bank. We Thank You!

PVA Extended Day

PVA will NOT be holding extended day on October 21. Classes will resume on October 28.

Back to school clarifiation

At this time, hybrid school does not impact middle school students. While teachers will be back in the building starting November 2nd, students will continue to participate virtually until the end of the semester. Click Here for more information.

Office Hours

Is your student missing work? Confused about assignment? Need to re-do an assignment? Do you need to speak with a teacher about your student? Teachers are available during OFFICE HOURS to help!

Grade book codes

Parent Portal is a powerful tool in helping your student stay on track. See attached list of "grade codes". The Assignment Name in Powerschool should match the assignment name in google classroom. While ALL work assigned is important for learning, teachers clearly indicate which assignments in google classroom are "Graded".
