Curriculum Corner

Hello Oak Grove Community,

As the school year comes to a close for the students, the teachers and administrators are planning for a summer of professional development. While families are out enjoying the summer sun, teachers are busy learning new and innovative ways to meet the needs of our ever-changing student population. Some of the professional development topics we are working on this summer include:

  • Using technology to assist with language literacy

  • Customizing learning with iTunes U (online unit design)

  • Publishing interactive content with iBooks author (interactive textbook)

  • Differentiating with flipped video (ability to watch lesson tutorial at home)

  • Differentiating with Google

  • Integrating video and green screens into the classroom

This is only a small representation of the many topics our teachers will be learning over the summer. It’s always exciting to be part of a team that continues to challenge the status quo in an effort for ongoing improvement. Enjoy your summer and know that we will be hard at work!
