American Education Week- November 13-17
Here is the list of events that will take place from November 13th-November 17th:
- Scholars will design the new Star Bux to be used in 2018. Each scholar will have the opportunity to design the new Star Buck and represent their grade level. There will be a voting process to select the best Star Buck for each class. Then each grade level will select a winner from all of the home room winners within that grade. When scholar return from winter break in January they will be earning Star Bux that are designed by a winner from each grade level.
- Each scholar will be able to create a representation of someone they learn from. Scholars will be given a template that includes the statement "I learn from......". They will finish the sentence and have an opportunity to add to that statement or draw a picture representation of the person they learn from. All of these representations will be displayed in the school.
- Each class will create a Google slide full of "Things I am not able to do yet". Scholars will think about something they are not yet able to do, but with hard work and effort may be able to accomplish in the future. The slide created for each class will be compiled and played as a show before morning announcements for a few days.
- Daily motivational quotes will be shared on the morning announcements throughout the week.
- Parents will have an opportunity to visit specials classes during a designated time window and day for each grade. The designated day for each grade will not allow parents to see all three of their scholar's specials, but they will have the opportunity to visit two of them. If a parent would like to see what takes place during Art, PE, or Music they may email Sarah Dudek (sarah.dudek@fcps.org) to let her know the day and grade they will be visiting. Mrs. Dudek is one of our art teachers and will be sharing your attendance with the specials team..
