Dealey Dragon Update
March 2017
Message from the Principal
It's hard to believe we have already started our 5th six weeks and Spring Break is right around the corner!
We have our first round of STAAR testing the week of March 27th. Our students and teachers have been working very hard to make sure they are prepared. I am confident that they will do a great job. Once we receive our first round scores, we will let you know the results.
We have also completed our application process for the 2017-18 school year and are thrilled to welcome our new Dragons to Dealey.
It's also an exciting time for us as we hear about our own Dealey 8th graders who have made their high school selections and have been accepted to new schools. As always, they will be missed, but we are happy for them to begin a new chapter in their lives. They have lots of fun events to look forward to as they wrap up their last couple of months at Dealey.
Finally, I want to let you know that as we think about the crazy weather March may bring, we will be practicing our severe weather drills with the students to ensure we are prepared for an emergency if needed. In addition to our monthly fire drill, we will review the procedures for the duck and cover and shelter in place drills.
Thanks for all you do and have a wonderful Spring Break!
Sincerely,
Beverly Lusk
