Message from the Principal
It was wonderful to see all of our families rejoin the campus with our Veteran's Day Performance and the Turkey Trot. The generosity from our families for the Toy Drive was overwhelming and exactly what we have come to expect from our amazing families. We will continue to welcome our families back to campus events in December with a "Bookmas" Literacy Night that will be a fun and engaging experience for everyone. The Book Fair will also be going on and the 5th grade Holiday Performance is sure to be a treat! We will wrap up the semester with our annual Holiday Parties with Pre-Kinder through Second Grade taking place from 10:00-10:45 and Third Grade through Fifth Grade at 11:00-11:45. We are excited to welcome parents to join us! Please take a look at the upcoming events and more specifics in the newsletter. We send our best wishes to all of our families as they spend next week away from campus. We will welcome our students back on Tuesday, November 30th.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get your child to school by 7:45 if you would like them to eat breakfast! We are serving all children breakfast this year. If you want your child to eat at school please get them here by 7:45am so they have time to eat their breakfast before we start class at 8:00. We have many students coming right at 8:00 and then wanting to eat breakfast. We don't want them to miss instruction time.

Donations to PANDA MART
Our children all love the Panda Mart! Panda Bucks are like gold and they earn them through great behavior and great work and showing Panda Pride. However we could use your help. We can't pay for these items through Title 1 funds so we rely on our teachers and families to make donations. Please check out the link to the Amazon Wish List for items you can donate to the Panda Mart. COME ON....HELP A PANDA OUT!
WPE Literacy Night
Literacy Night will be the conclusion of our Book Fair. Enjoy a family night of different components of literacy activities.
Counselor Corner: Self-Management for our WPE Students
During this quarter, we are studying Self-management. The counselors are meeting with EVERY student at WPE to build that connection with each student. During our one on one meetings with students, we ask students to say something that they believe that they are good at. It is important that students are able to identify their strengths and see those strengths within themselves. However, this question stumps many students. Please have your child think of something that they really like to do and that they feel that they are good at. It could be sports, artistic talent, or even playing video games. Then have them make a list of what specific skills they use to be successful at that activity. They could make a poster to remind them of their strengths!

Classroom Activity Fees

Thursday mornings 9:00 am
But check with your child's teacher sometime, and you’ll soon discover that it’s anything but! Behind the scenes, most elementary teachers usually spend at least one hour, and sometimes two or three, preparing for every hour of classroom instruction. Those cute mittens with the shoelace sewing strings? Every one of them must be cut out and sorted ahead of time. Which is why, if you’re a elementary parent, many teachers will warmly invite you to volunteer—as much as you can.
We will start a co-op where parents can come and meet together and work on crafts for classrooms. We will provide all the materials and instructions. You can visit with other parents and get to know each other all while helping out the school.
Please RSVP to krose@humbleisd.net so that we can have badges ready to go. Also make sure that you have registered with Humble ISD at the following link https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/MTA4NDplbi1VUw== so that you might be able to chaperone field trips and work school parties as well.

Humble Independent School District **ANNOUNCEMENT**
Automated attendance emails to resume Monday, November 29
Dear Families,
Humble ISD has technology in place to help keep parents informed about their children’s school attendance. Beginning Monday, November 29, the district will resume sending automated notifications by email to parents when an unexcused absence occurs. The emails will come from the address HumbleISD_Connect@humbleisd.net.
To avoid absences being marked as unexcused, parents of both virtual and in-person learners must notify the school that their child is absent. Parental consent for the absence makes it excused. Parents must provide the parent note to the campus within 48 hours of the student’s return to school. TEA has requirements in place regarding attendance procedures that schools must follow.
If your child is absent, please:
- Go to humbleisd.net/attendancecontacts and submit the form online;
- Or, email the campus attendance office about the absence;
- Or, send a parent note with the student about the absence;
- Or call or fax in a message to the campus.
Working in partnership, we ensure that parents are informed when their child has an unexcused absence so that parents can check on their children or send a note within 48 hours to have the absence marked excused.
