Donation Update!
As a result of our first Dollar Jeans Day in January, we reached our goal in donations and were able to adopt our AmeriMont Eagle through the World Wildlife Foundation!
Each grade voted on its name...
Drum roll, please...
Our Eagle's name is Chi-Chi!
For the month of February, we raised over one hundred dollars for The City of Hope!
We are so proud of each and every one of you for raising awareness and giving so much to these causes.
Let's Keep it up! March is National Epilepsy Awareness Month! On March 28th, bring a minimum of $1 donation and wear your jeans! All proceeds will go to the Epilepsy Foundation.

TK, K, and 1st Grade Field Trip
TK & K Field Trip to the Santa Ana Zoo!
Wow, what a great day for a trip to the zoo! Our TK and K students had the best time exploring attractions like Tierra de las Pampas, Crean Family Farm, and Amazon's Edge. Throughout their tour, they learned about animals such as howler monkeys, mallards, scarlet ibis, emerald toucanet, blue-crowned mot-mot, and much more!
First Grade Field Trip to the Tessman Planetarium!
Our 1st Grade students took quite an interactive journey and traveled beyond the night sky and into deep space on their field trip to Tessmann Planetarium. Students learned how to locate the planets and constellations under a realistic stimulation created by the powerful star projector! They learned about gravity, stars, constellations, NASA’s space program, and concepts beyond our imagination!
A Look Ahead
St. Patrick's Day Celebration 3/15
We will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Friday, March 15th. This is a festive free dress day for all students and staff, so have fun with it and wear as much green as possible! Please refer to your child's class newsletter for specific classroom parties.
Henry DiCarlo Visit 3/20
We are thrilled to announce that Yorba Linda's very own Henry DiCarlo will be visiting AmeriMont Elementary on Wednesday, March 20th to share about his experiences as a Meteorologist and Sportscaster for KTLA 5 Morning News! We can't wait to meet him and hear all of the fascinating stories and knowledge he has gained throughout his career.
Spring Break Camp Registration Now Open!

Citizen of the Month Awards 2/22
On Friday, February 22nd, we will hold our Citizen of the Month awards at 8am on the yard (weather permitting)!
Throughout the month of February, students have been learning what it means to display perseverance; working towards a goal despite being faced with challenges. Each student votes for someone in their class who has displayed these qualities and believes they should be recognized.
Be sure to ask your child about how they can persevere through challenging situations. Each month, AMA will focus on a different trait based off the 7 habits of effective leaders.
The trait we will focus on in March is citizenship; making your school, community, and the world a better place.
Mrs. Thompson's first grade class will also be performing on this day at 2:00pm in the MPR.
All Citizen of the Month Awards are formal dress days.
