Red Ribbon Week
Bryceville Elementary School kicked off Red Ribbon Week by wearing red. They also had all students sign a "We Stand Against Bullying & Drugs" poster to help reinforce the Just Say No to Drugs theme. The students wore silly socks on Thursday and socked it to drugs. Friday saw students putting a cap on drugs by wearing their favorite cap. Monday, they teamed up against drugs in their favorite team apparel. Red Ribbon Week concluded with students showing good character. They dressed up in their favorite characters and had a parade around the school courtyard. Red Ribbon Week was a success!
Mrs. Russell’s Science students enjoyed Halloween by experimenting with Chemical Changes. The students each had a role…Bottle Collector, Balloon Designer, Frankie the Funnel, Wicked Witch and the Magician. Once the chemical change occurred, the students explored how the balloon inflated and felt how cold the bottle turned.
During October, Yulee Middle School's 1st-period classes collected new stuffed animals for local Nassau County Law Enforcement. Law enforcement officers will give these new treasures to children when police are needed at a scene for any reason. These animals will help provide comfort and care to children all over our community.
The Top Classroom Collectors were:
Ms. Koenig's 8th grade 1st Period Civics class and Mr. Taylor's 6th grade English Language Arts Class.
