The safety and security of our students and staff remains our top priority. Every person entering our buildings must have a CCSD ID, a Cherry Creek Academy ID or a badge printed from the Raptor System.

This Friday, September 16, 2022 we have our monthly PTO meeting from 8:15 am - 9:00 am. You are welcome to attend this meeting in person or join us virtually for the meeting. Any individual who enters CCA needs to complete the following two steps.

First you need to fill out this form (which only needs to be done once a school year for all CCSD Schools by clicking on the following link:

Second, you will need to click on this link and fill out this form so that we can your Raptor ID

badge ready and waiting for you in the lobby on Friday:

If you decide not to go through the 2 step process or decide to attend in-person at the last minute, please be prepared to wait in line until you complete the forms.

Parents I would like to remind you all about a couple of important procedures we have at Cherry Creek Academy. If you have any questions, please let me know by emailing me at Sloomis@cherrycreekacademy.org.

Attendance: If your student(s) are going to be absent you must email attendance@cherrycreekacademy.org or call 303-779-8988 x 290. When you call or email me, please include your students first and last name, spelling of the last name and the reason for the absence. If your student is going to miss three or more days due to a vacation, we ask that you fill out a "notice of extended school absence" and return it to the front office. If your student misses three or more days due to being sick, a doctor's note is recommended so the absences can continue to be excused.

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! During the week of September 26-30, 2022 the book fair will be open the following hours:

Monday - Wednesday: 7:30 am- 4:00 pm

Thursday: 7:30 am - 8:00 pm

Friday: 8 am - 12:00 pm

Wednesday, September 28, 2022 we will be taking all sports photos at 3:30 pm in the Gym. If you are in a sport this season please plan on being here for photos.

As a part of our Veterans Day Assembly, scheduled for November 11, 2022 at 8 am, we would like to honor the brave people in our community who have served or are currently serving in the military. To include a member of the military to be honored during our assembly please share their name and the branch of the military they served in or are currently serving in, an optional picture, and bio or information about their time serving in the link below. Thank you for your participation. This year we will invite those Veterans, as well as families of students and members of our community to our school to join us for our in person assembly.

CCA is so excited to present an author visit with Dion Leonard, the author of Finding Gobi. Mr. Leonard and Gobi will be appearing at CCA on September 20th and will be presenting to all grade levels. His book is written in three different versions to meet the grade levels of all of our students. All students are encouraged to purchase a book (please see order form). All books will be autographed by Dion Leonard and "pawtographed" by Gobi. This is such a fun opportunity for our students! 6-8th graders,

CCA is working on introducing a new club: National Junior Honor Society. NJHS elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship, the five pillars of the organization. Not only recognizing students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. If you are interested in this new club, please email Khloe Karikari (kkarikari@cherrycreekacademy.org), Mr. Leins (zleins@cherrycreekacademy.org), or Mr. Mahan (dmahan@cherrycreekacademy.org).

Our new GT teacher, Carol Redmond, will be offering a drop-in enrichment program for all students at CCA before school. She will be downstairs in the Innovation Space each day from 7:20 to 7:55 and available to guide students who would like to choose an independent project or activity that explores their personal interests or passions.

Available resources include:

STEM activity supplies and prompts (including recycled materials for constructions)

Brain teaser puzzles such as KenKen

Creative writing or research guidance

iPad apps: Sketches Pro, Stop Motion Studio

Dash and Dot robots using Blockly for coding

Ms. Redmond looks forward to learning and creating together before school!

1. Meals have returned to paid, reduced, or free. Please complete a meal application to benefit our program and the district with additional educational funding.
