FROM THE DESK OF MS. TAYLOR AND MR. RODRIGUEZ
Dear ESTLA Families
We hope you all had an opportunity to enjoy the final weekend of October, voted on Tuesday and prepare to "Fall" back an hour this weekend!
November has 18 student days that will be packed with many events including our Report Card Conferences. Report card conferences will be hybrid (in-person and virtual). Teachers will be sharing links to access the conferences.
Dates and Times
Tuesday, November 23rd-In-person or virtual 4:00-7:30pm
Wednesday, November 24th- In-person or virtual: 8:00-11:30am
Please continue to review this month's newsletter for additional upcoming events.
We would like to take this moment to ask all of our families to assist us in ensuring students are arriving and departing our campus safely. We are asking;
1) DO NOT drop students off in the middle of the street or across the street. YOU CAN ONLY DROP STUDENTS OFF IN THE LOOP (Picture and diagram below). The cars traveling the street in front of our school (Coolidge and Markley) do not always stop nor follow the designated speed limit.
2) When an opportunity presents itself please walk with your students to and from school. This ensures they are making good decisions as they pass our neighbors. Family presence is a key factor in demonstrating we are partners in caring and growing our children.
3) Additionally, please monitor your students phone time! Be aware of all their passcodes and what social media applications they are using. Many incidents seem to derive from posting on Instagram, and SnapChat.
In service,
Christina Taylor, Principal, ctaylor@nasd.k12.pa.us
Mr. Joseph Rodriguez, Assistant Principal, jrodriguez@nasd.k12.pa.us

HOPEWORX, INC
We are VERY excited to share that our Virtual Support Group is starting again! This group was started in the early part of the pandemic (as Family Mentor) and we have found the virtual platform to be well received for its accessibility. This group is run as a Mutual Peer Support so there is no set agenda, rather an organic exchange where everyone can feel heard and welcomed. All our Family Peer Support Partners with lived experience will be attending to share support and resources.
I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

MONTCO COMMUNITY COLLEGE OFFERS DENTAL
DENTAL
Montgomery County Community College dental hygiene program is currently in need of children and teenagers to come in for cleanings in our clinic.
Each patient who visits the clinic receives an oral cancer screening, x-rays if needed, a cavity check and exam by the dentist, a top notch cleaning, and a custom goodie bag. Additionally, they provide dental sealants on teeth that are vulnerable to cavities.
The great thing about the dental clinic is that it costs $20... no insurance needed. Sealants are provided at $5 per tooth where in a typical office they can cost up to $60 a tooth.
Appointments run from 8:15-11:45am OR 1:30-5pm and patients are expected to stay the entire duration. They are a learning facility, therefore, everything they do gets double checked by the dentist/hygienist.
As student hygienists, we are equipped to treat patients with special needs, delays, and language barriers.
