For Week 16
I can't believe week 18 is next week. This is our last week studying the great artists. The next six weeks we will be studying the Orchestra and composers. If you or someone in your family play a musical instrument would you consider playing for us one of the six weeks? Remember, it does not have to be a master piece. It is good for our children to see that we are trying things even though it may not be as good as we think it should be. We are modeling for them.
For Week 17:
Family Presentations - Chupp Family
Playground Duty - Stephens/Cowles
Suggested Oral Presentations:
ABC/Apprentices
Show-n-tell: Your choice WHO gave it to you? WHAT does it look like? WHERE/WHEN did you get it? WHY do you like it?
Journeymen/Masters: Persuasion: Commercial: (2-3 min)
Create a commercial that “persuades” your audience to buy your real or imaginary product. Enhance your presentation with props, gestures, and expression.
Skill: Poise: Be calm, cool, and collected, even if something goes wrong. Stand tall and firm.
Memory Review: We will review week #17 and cumulative History weeks 11-16.
"The Lord Bless you and keep you. the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26

Open Houses and Informational Meetings
Our next Open House is Tuesday, February 16th from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
We will have an Information Meeting from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. I highly encourage visitors to stay for the Information Meeting so they can understand the "why" behind what they observe that morning. If they just attend the Open House and do not go to an Information Meeting then they may not understand the philosophy of Classical Education and Classical Conversations. So if you invite friends and family to attend an Open House please stay with them for the Informational Meeting. They are more likely to stay if you do! Also let them know they can bring lunch and eat with us that day.
Children are welcome at the Open House! I will have enough art and science supplies ready. If you have friends that are planning to attend the Open House please let me know how many children to prepare for. I don't want to run out of Art Supplies for them.
Additional Meetings:
Info Meeting - Feb 13th Starbucks 145th and 71st 9:00 to 11:00 AM
Info Meeting - Feb 27th Panera Bread Broken Arrow 9:00 to 11:00 AM
Valentines Party
We will have our Valentines celebration after lunch on Tuesday. Please bring some craft items for children to decorate bags, and valentines for your child to pass out either to their classmates and/or the community.
Mrs. Chupp needs some help making sugar cookies for our group. Please let her know if you can help. We will let the kids decorate them. She will bring the decorating supplies.
If you have other ideas for the party, please let Mrs. Chupp know.
