Big picture

After Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes #GivingTuesday! This year’s St. Ann Giving Tuesday campaign is the Angel Program. As you know, we have been tasked by the Archdiocese to raise $150,000 very quickly to keep St. Ann School open beyond this school year. We have already brought in over $44,00 in pledges. Help us keep that positive momentum going!

To help show our great appreciation, donors of at least $100 will receive St. Ann pocket hand sanitizers, and $1,000+ donors will receive St. Ann beverage tumblers. Please talk with your family and friends, and pray over how you will participate. Ask grandparents and friends to go in on a pledge with you. Check at work if there is a corporate matching program to double your donation. Coming into the end of the year, many people are looking for additional charitable contributions to make for tax purposes--tell them your family's St. Ann story. The full letter may be accessed here if you wish to share it, or you may request additional copies in the office.

Donations may be made by returning the pledge form,

by texting ANGEL to 847-201-4236,

via PayPal to,

Leaders Are Readers

Join us for Leaders Are Readers, our twice-monthly virtual story time. The link to join will be emailed that afternoon. In November, we enjoyed hearing from guest readers, Savannah Posley and Mrs. Gonzalez. Would your child like to read? Or do you or someone else you know want to be a guest reader? Interested readers should email Mrs. Rivas with the book you would like to read:

All Current 8th Graders Are Invited

Testers should bring with them 2 sharpened #2 pencils and the $25 testing fee (cash or check made payable to Marian Catholic High School). No calculators are allowed for the test. Students should enter the building at the Leadership Center (Joe Orr Road) and arrive by 7:45 a.m. All students will be temperature checked when they arrive and face masks must be worn at all times while in the building. Pre-registration is mandatory! (The link is available here and on the home page of the Marian website).

Students taking the High School Placement Test (HSPT) should know the following information on testing day: Parent(s) Names, Home Mailing Address (house number, street name, apt. #, city, state, zip code), and the primary contact phone number for parents, as well as their grade school (including the town). Students should be finished with the test around Noon. Results of the test will be mailed home on or about January 15, 2021. For more information, please contact Tony DeCarlo (708-756-9770) or Sean Mele (708-756-9742).

Are You Sending in Your Stracks Receipts? Please Ask Others to Save Them for You Too!

Collect Strack & VanTil Food Market register receipts dated between September 1 and March 1 to help St. Ann earn FREE educational rewards! Every classroom has a Collection Envelope, and we will be tallying the value of the receipts turned in. The class that brings in the most will win a prize!

Mrs. Rivas has collected and tallied receipts turned in so far, and here's how things look:

  • PreK/K: $2,804.66
  • 1st Grade: $2,245.78
  • 2nd Grade: $1,950.38
  • 3rd/4th Grade: $1,906.39
  • 5th Grade: $2,432.26
  • 6th Grade: $3,738.43
  • 7th/8th Grade: $3,977.50

Keep up the great work, everyone! Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays are a great time to be collecting receipts since so many people shop for their feasts!
