The author, ALAN GIBBONS, will be visiting with all students at Bradbury on March 1st, mark your calendars!

Schedule:

9:00-9:45 – Y3-6 presentation, assembly, hall

9:45-10:30 – Y3-4 Special student writers workshop, around 5-10 students may attend per class, hall

11:00-11:40- Y1-2 presentation, assembly, hall

12:45-1:30 – Y5-6 Special student writers workshop, around 5-10 students may attend per class, hall

Library System:

Thank you very much for adapting to the library Oliver system being down (our biggest nightmare in here). Besides a few spotty hours, the system has now been down for over two weeks. We hope that things are resolved and we can be fully functional again soon.

Three events in the next month:

1. Author Visit with Alan Gibbons, March 1st.

2. Staff Book Breakfast, February 28th.

3. Book Character Day/World Book Day, March 7th.

Staff Book Breakfast

Come visit us in the library from 8:00am-8:30am on Feb. 28th for our second book breakfast. We're hoping to share new books and the adjusted professional book collection.

WORLD READ ALOUD DAY!

All school Activities:

All school book character dress up day - Fundraiser for Room to Read – for casual dress suggested $10HKD contribution to Room to Read

All school photo- whole school dressed up like world environment day... not a parade

Guest readers in the library at lunch – Throughout the week

Featured author in library: Emily Gravett


Suggestions for classroom activities:

-Fun with DEAR (Drop Everything and Read)

-Guest readers in class, parents invited

-Door decorations: decorate as a book and have students/other classes guess which book the door represents

-Online resources for reading- celebrate books online as well as in hand
