Video Explanation for April
There are a few clarifications to the video:
- Students will not be cleaning their own desk and chair. Staff will do this for them at the end of each school day.
- All exterior doors will remain locked at all times. Instead, teachers will greet the students in their class by opening the exterior door to their classroom and welcoming students directly into their room. Staff will direct students as to the path they should follow to reach their classroom's exterior door. Teachers will also explain this to their students prior to the start of In-Person instruction.
- Visitors who need to speak with office staff will need to ring the doorbell on our front doors. Office staff will then welcome one visitor at a time into our main office.
- Volunteers are not allowed inside Terra Linda at this time.
- For Terra Linda, our playground will be closed from 8:00am to 4:00pm once In-Person Hybrid begins. Your family could choose to play at the THPRD Park nearby on your walk home if you choose, but please remember there is a second half to your school day. All schools will have this same rule.

Hybrid Attendance Information
Teachers will take attendance in the morning at the start of the In Person Hybrid day. If your student will be absent, it is important to contact BOTH the teacher and the Terra Linda office. The office can be emailed at TRLND-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us or called at 503-356-2491. Please note that unless the office is notified, the student will be marked unexcused absent, and you WILL receive an automated phone call and email reminding you that their absence is unexcused.
Students who were not in school, but did participate asynchronously through Seesaw or Canvas will have their absence corrected.
Screening Upon Arrival at School
BUS
- If your child rides the bus to school, the driver will greet them, record their attendance and do another visual evaluation.
- If a student exhibits or complains of any COVID-like symptoms, the child will be directed to sit in the first three rows of the bus, isolated from the rest of the students. Drivers will notify dispatch and dispatch will notify the school. These children will disembark first. A staff member will meet them and take them to the isolation room.
SCHOOL
- As students arrive on school grounds, staff members will greet them, direct them to the entrance to their classroom, and do another visual check.
- If a student exhibits or complains of any COVID-like symptoms, the child will be isolated from the rest of the students
- The front office will be called to request that an adult accompany the student to the isolation room.
- A designated staff member will take the student’s temperature.
- If the student presents with COVID-like symptoms or symptoms warranting exclusion from school, the student will wait in the school isolation room until a parent/guardian can pick up the student.
- We will encourage parent/guardians to take the student to see a health care provider for evaluation.
Face Covering/Mask Policy
Total mask wearing time for bus riders includes time on the bus to school, class at school, and time on the bus home.
Total mask wearing time for those who walk to school or arrive in vehicle includes the time from whenever they arrive on campus until they leave campus.
Although all staff have had the opportunity to be vaccinated, masks and social distancing are still required. Staff families and friends have likely not been vaccinated and staff do not want to risk infecting them.
Take Home Materials
Students attending in-person instruction will not be a part of ongoing Grab & Go events. They may, however, continue using their tote bags to bring items to and from school.
Grab & Go events will be reserved for students remaining in CDL only. The exception to this being if a student needs to move to CDL temporarily for a class or individual quarantine.

Students Who Arrive in a Vehicle
Students need to remain in vehicles until 8:45am. Students may only exit vehicles in the Car Drop Off Area at the front of the school. The only exception is for students in the SRC.
Students need to enter and exit the passenger side of the vehicle to avoid passing traffic on the driver side. Families are encouraged to practice exiting the vehicle ahead of the April return dates.
Students Who Walk or Bike to School in the Morning
Students who walk to school arrive at Terra Linda from one of two directions:
If you arrive from the northeast or east side of Terra Linda (from the Terra Linda neighborhood or the THPRD playground area):
- Students and families must wait at the fire gate until the crossing guard arrives.
- The crossing guard will invite students and families to cross at the cross walk beginning at 8:45am.
As a reminder, do not park in the area near the fire gate. Please park at least one block away from the fire gate so that students who are walking to school can be easily seen.
If you arrive from the northwest side of Terra Linda (along the driveway entrance from NW 143rd):
- Students and families must wait on the THPRD Park side of the sidewalk near the bus lane until 8:45am. The safest route onto campus is to walk to the fire gate use the cross walk with our crossing guard.
Arrival Pathways by Grade / Teacher
Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, and Mrs. Wick's Walkers, Bicyclists, and Bus Riders:
- Walk along the front of the building (toward the main office entrance) to your teacher's exterior classroom door.
- Exception: Families with Kindergarteners will be able to walk their students to their teacher's exterior classroom door. We may change this once we settle in to In-Person Hybrid.
1st Grade & 2nd Grade Walkers, Bicyclists, and Bus Riders:
- Walk between the library and module toward the playground to your teacher's exterior classroom door.
4th Grade Walkers, Bicyclists, and Bus Riders:
- Walk directly to your teacher's exterior classroom door in module.
Mrs. Powers's Walkers, Bicyclists, and Bus Riders:
- Walk directly to the under cover area near the library to the library door.
Students in all grades who arrive in a vehicle will be dropped off in the Car Line:
- Students will walk around the south end of the building (toward the Kindergarten and 2nd grade classrooms) until they reach their teacher's exterior classroom door/entrance. The only exception is students in Mrs. Wick's class. She will explain the pathway to her students.

Dismissal Plan at 11:15am
Students Who Walk Home in the Afternoon
Please note: Parent/Guardians or other family members will not be allowed to walk on campus during dismissal.
Students who walk home fromTerra Linda depart from one of two directions:
If students depart campus to the northeast or east side of Terra Linda (toward the Terra Linda neighborhood or the THPRD playground area):
- Parents/Guardians must wait at the fire gate until the crossing guard brings students across the driveway to connect with you.
- Many students are capable of walking from our bus lane to the fire gate independently.
- Parents/Guardians can request that siblings connect with each other in the under cover area near the library before walking to the fire gate, especially if older siblings will be responsible for walking with younger siblings.
- Terra Linda staff will escort students that parents/guardians request to have escorted to the fire gate and verify they are connected with the adult designated to pick them up at the end of each day.
As a reminder, do not park in the area near the fire gate. Please park at least one block away from the fire gate so that students who are walking home can be easily seen.
If students depart campus towards NW 143rd along the driveway:
- Parents/Guardians must wait on the sidewalk next to the THPRD park (north of the driveway).
- Students will wait near the module until a staff member can escort them across the driveway
- Terra Linda staff will escort students that parents/guardians request to have escorted to the THPRD Park side of the driveway and verify they are connected with the adult designated to pick them up at the end of each day.
Students Who Ride the Bus Home
- The driver will likely ask each student for their name, especially in the first few weeks. For our youngest students, please practice with them so they can answer clearly with their first and last name.
The driver will then complete the screening steps as outlined in the Screening Info above.
- The driver will direct the students where to sit, loading the bus from rear to front.
- We will make every effort to place one child per seat with members of the same household sitting together on the bus.
- All students will need to wear masks while on the bus.
Notes:
- Each time students disembark, high-touch areas will be disinfected. At the end of the day, the entire bus will be sanitized.
- At least three windows per side will be lowered to the red line, and roof hatches will be open to ensure extra airflow and ventilation.
- Our Transportation Department will be notifying families about bus routes for Hybrid instruction. Families can learn more on the BSD Transportation website.
Students Who Will Go Home in a Vehicle
Students need to enter and exit the passenger side of the vehicle to avoid passing traffic on the driver side. Families are encouraged to practice entering the vehicle ahead of the April return dates.
Drivers are asked to display the Hang Tag from your rear view mirror to assist with vehicle identification. We will distribute Hang Tags during Grab & Go. If you need more than one hang tag, please contact us at Terra Linda.
Meal Distribution
No meals will be eaten in school. Meal sacks with handles will be provided daily to students as they leave for the day. Tuesday meal sacks will include two days of meals. Breakfast, Lunch and Supper will be provided. There is no fee for any meal. Allergies, meal modifications with medical documentation and vegetarian requests will be accommodated, and separate meal bags marked with the student name will be prepared as needed.
All students will be given a meal sack each day unless their parent/guardian has opted out of meals. If you choose to opt out and then later want to opt in, just contact us at Terra Linda.

Teachers will let families know if students in their class need to bring their Chromebook or iPad to school for In-Person learning. We have not made any final plans at this time.
Some items may travel to and from school each day, such as a writing notebook. Teachers will let each class know their plans, but all supplies will be provided.
