SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

Superintendent Laura Kacer shared Goal #6: Culture of Coaching. Laura shared the work administrators are engaging in to improve their own leadership abilities. Jim Verlengia and Doug Stilwell (Heartland AEA) are facilitating leadership sessions for the group. Verlengia shared insights so far and what he hopes this group will do with their leadership development.


SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT - OTHER

Greg Ehm, JCS Foundation member and OLE chair, gave the board an overview of the JHS Outdoor Learning Environment project - how it started, the work that's been done, the many classes/students/teachers involved in the process, funding for the $25,000 project, and next steps. JHS science teachers Sarah Kate Howe and Kyla Burns shared their vision for the project and excitement for use come next spring when the project is complete.

Board meetings are held at the district office, located at 6510 NW 62nd Ave., Johnston. January board meetings will take place on January 13 and 27, at 6 p.m. Meetings are also livestreamed at https://team1sports.com/johnston/.
