Iowa Anti-Vaping Campaign Announced at JMS
Representative Derry Visits Wallace Elementary
Fourth graders at Wallace prepped for their visit to the State Capitol with a visit from Representative Karin Derry. She read "Grace Goes to Washington," then donated the book to the library. The kids had great questions about her job, what the Capitol was like, and how she became a state representative. What a fun learning event!

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Superintendent Laura Kacer shared Goal #6: Culture of Coaching. Laura shared the work administrators are engaging in to improve their own leadership abilities. Jim Verlengia and Doug Stilwell (Heartland AEA) are facilitating leadership sessions for the group. Verlengia shared insights so far and what he hopes this group will do with their leadership development.
SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT - OTHER
Greg Ehm, JCS Foundation member and OLE chair, gave the board an overview of the JHS Outdoor Learning Environment project - how it started, the work that's been done, the many classes/students/teachers involved in the process, funding for the $25,000 project, and next steps. JHS science teachers Sarah Kate Howe and Kyla Burns shared their vision for the project and excitement for use come next spring when the project is complete.
