COVID Vaccination Rates

55% of the entire school is fully vaccinated

63% of all eligible students are fully vaccinated (and climbing)

COVID Testing

55% of students are signed up for weekly testing (an increase of 15% this week!)

63% of PK students are signed up for weekly testing (an increase of 29% this week!)

Interesting - that this weeks vaccination percentages and testing percentages are similar... that was not a typo :)

Masks

CPS has begun delivering KN95 masks for adults and children to CPS schools. Peirce received masks for staff members two weeks ago and are expected to receive masks for students on Tuesday, January 18th. Masks will be available for any student who would like one daily.

Alderman Osterman delivered 2,000 masks this week and Friends of Peirce purchased 20,000 masks for students and adults! Several Peirce Parents have also begun collecting masks and delivering them to the school. I appreciate everyone's efforts!

While some prefer the KN95 mask, I want to stress that we are not requiring any particular type of mask - it is important to remember that any mask that is comfortable to students is a mask that they should wear.

Local School Council Special Meeting

Tuesday, January 18th at 7:00pm

Peirce's Local School Council along with Principal Zaimi will host a Special LSC meeting on Tuesday, January 18th to share updates on how the current health and safety protocols are being implemented at Peirce while also being available to answer any questions. While there will be time for public participation during the meeting, please share any questions you have here in advance of the meeting so that Principal Zaimi can provide as much information up front as possible. Thank you!

This meeting will be held in person with a virtual component available. Those who are interested in attending should enter through door #8 (Gym Door), wear a cloth face covering and be free of any COVID-Symptoms.

SY22 LSC Election Nomination Period Opened - The SY22 Local School Council Election nomination period opened on January 3, 2022. You may find electronic copies of candidate applications and supporting documents and judge applications and supporting documents on the LSC Website.

• Candidate applications are due to the school where you seek membership on or before March 4, 2022.

• Judge application, IRS W-9 Form, and CPS Vendor request forms are due via email to LSCJudge@cps.edu on or before March 8, 2022.
