A BBIS parent wanted to share this opportunity:

They would love to have BBIS families and staff participate this year.
BBI Staff Spotlight!
Mrs. Carol Ramirez
5th grade Language Arts Teacher
How long have you been at BBI? This is my 2nd year at BBIS.
Where are you from and where did you grow up? I am from Houston, Tx. I grew up in the Aldine area and attended Sweetwater Christian School through the 12th grade.
What inspired you to work with children? I have many educators in my family, but my cousin, Paula Henthorn, has been the biggest influence for me. I would go on field trips with her and her class. Just being around her was enough for me to make the decision to work with kids the rest of my life.
What is your favorite book? The Book Whisperer by Donanlyn Miller
What was your favorite subject in school? History
If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? Flying an airplane would be cool!
If you could have any other career, what would it be? I would love to be a school Librarian someday.
Who do you consider your hero? My parents
People would be surprised to know…I have made several wedding cakes.
ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE: January 8 - March 5
WHEN: January 8th - March 5th
WHO: Students
HOW: ZERO absences (excused or unexcused), ZERO tardies, & ZERO discipline referrals
WHY: ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Monday, January 20, 2020; Student/Staff Holiday
BBI Staff Spotlight!
Mrs. Lacy Jones
6th grade Social Studies Teacher
How long have you been at BBI? 5 years (this year)
Where are you from and where did you grow up?I am from and grew up in Irving Texas.
What inspired you to work with children? When I was in College I worked with the youth at church and thought that I could be a good mentor for the students around me. I thought teaching would be a good job to do that in.
What is your favorite book? I can only pick one? Pride and Prejudice ( I guess). You would be reading this slot for days if I could choose more then one.
What was your favorite subject in school? History. I got my minor in History but I wish I did a double major in it. I love finding out about the stories and the cultures of different places.
If you could learn to do one thing, what would it be? Play the drums, skateboard. Unfortunately, I have no hand eye coordination and I have a strong will to survive and not get hurt so neither of these will ever happen.
If you could have any other career, what would it be? I would manage a wedding venue, or be a stay at home mom. OHHH or be Indiana Jones.
Who do you consider your hero? I have a lot of heroes, I have a lot of people who have influenced my life... even students... but I think that the person I look up to the most is my husband because he always works so hard and never complains about anything.
People would be surprised to know… I have an instagram for my dog.... follow @gunnyjonesthegsd.
