What an AWESOME start to the school year! Thank you to everyone for starting this year with such enthusiasm. We are so excited to be here with your children every day!

I know arrival and dismissal can present some challenges at Ferson Creek. If you haven't already, please familiarize yourself with our procedures which are linked below. Thank you for your patience as we get students home safely!

Below you will find lots of information from the PTO. They've shared an August newsletter, spirit wear information, and details on a Cougar's game for Friday, August 19th.

iReady Diagnostic Testing

Next week our 1st- 5th grade students will take their Fall iReady Diagnostic assessment. You can find a letter from our Assessment Department with specifics regarding iReady here.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival and Dismissal will look slightly differently this year. All students will be entering through the front door at arrival. Students will be welcomed into the building at 7:45 because this is when we have adult supervision. This is a change from the previous two years, so please talk through this with your child. Arrival procedures can be found here.

Dismissal procedures can be found here. As in previous years, dismissal can cause traffic congestion around Ferson Creek. Please review our protocol for dismissal, as there are important specifics regarding car pick up.

Please fill out this form so that classroom teachers and the front office know your child's typical dismissal routine. In the event that you are changing your dismissal plans, either for the day or long term, please be sure to reach out to the classroom teacher as well as the front office. This is especially important if it's a "day-of" change, as many teachers do not have the opportunity to check their email prior to dismissal.

Food Service Updates

All students will have a 40 minute lunch/recess block. Some students eat first, while other students have recess first. Teachers will share specific schedules with you regarding your child's classroom routine. As is typical, students will have the opportunity to purchase a lunch or bring one from home. D303 uses PushCoin for lunch accounts. You can add money to your child's wallet, providing funds for them to purchase lunch. Lunch menus and pricing can be found on our D303 website.

Breakfast will be available for purchase this year. If your child is purchasing breakfast, they will pick it up from the cafeteria prior to school starting. Children will then eat their breakfast in their classroom as a part of their morning routine.
