A big thank you to Ms. Nakano, Ms. Popov and the PTA Book Fair Chairs, Liz Dunn and Jennifer Arvidson, for coordinating the fall Scholastic Book Fair! Additionally, a big thanks to all our parent volunteers who helped set up, assisted students shopping and making their wish lists, restocked shelves, and took down the fair. Many hands make light work and your time and assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks to all the superstars who shopped and donated to class libraries. Happy reading everyone!
School Climate Survey!
As part of the state's College and Career Readiness Index (CCRPI) which is similar to a report card, the Department of Education asks parents to participate in a short survey (24 questions). The percentage of parents who participate directly impacts our School Climate Star Rating on the CCRPI.
30 parents have completed this survey - thank you!
if you haven't taken the survey yet, please take a few minutes to complete it now!

ATTENTION PARENTS OF RISING MIDDLE SCHOOLERS - READ THIS!
Car Rider Parents - Watch Out!
Our car rider lane has a specific pattern for car flow because our campus is so small. We have 2 lanes that merge into 1 lane. When two cars arrive at the merging point together, we ask parents to alternate (sign is posted!) in order to be courteous to fellow parents. We've had several close calls in recent weeks! Take a deep breath and practice taking turns!
SIMPSON SUPERSTARS SHINE EVERYWHERE!
Often, our Simpson Superstars shine outside the school.
We want to celebrate every time they shine!
If your child receives an honor, award, championship, please let us know and we’ll highlight it in “Star News!” Please include your child's name and teacher.

We would like to recognize our runners who ran in the Pinckneyville Color Run as an unofficial team event for our Kilometer Kids program. Even with the rainy forecast, they showed up with smiles on their faces and worked hard to complete either the 5K or 1K. We will have 2 other events this season for our over 90 participants, but this was our first unofficial event in which we competed. The runners displayed perseverance, determination, and courage, especially as the weather was a challenge, the course presented some hills, and it was the first race experience for many!
