A Note From Your Principals
Month two!
We cannot even believe it! Time flies, huh?
Well, we’re into our routine now. Which, of course, is good for kids. Reading, math, content areas, library, music, and PE are all up and running. A little bit of homework is in play as well.
We’ve assessed kids, come to understand strengths and areas of growth, and we have now formed our intervention groups after deliberate data meetings—meeting kids where they are, particularly in reading and math. We can tell you all about it during goal-setting conferences in a couple of weeks.
Schedule your virtual conference(s) early next week with this link: https://pickatime.com/EvergreenElementarySchool
If you would prefer a face-to-face goal-setting conference, simply connect with your teacher.
Earlier this week, as Mrs. G and I were saying good-bye to kids for the day, a student shared that she didn’t have any homework. Typically, teachers will have a little something for their students each evening. If not, make some study time after school a routine. Read some; draw a picture; research an interesting topic. Maybe build a puzzle. Have the kids help make dinner. Even that involves some math. The important thing, take interest. If you as caregivers do that, your kids will know that you value them, you value school, you value learning.
Sincerely,
Mr. Danford and Mrs. Goehring

If you have the sniffles...
We have had positive cases in our buildings from students who have come to school unknowingly positive for COVID-19. In some cases, it has been very minor symptoms -- even just a runny nose, scratchy throat or headache -- and through testing, we have seen them turn positive. Please monitor these symptoms, no matter how minor, and help us keep our schools open.
District Safety Protocols
In preparation for the start of school, the Mead School District has developed a robust reopening plan with clear protocols to help keep students and staff safe. Evergreen's plans will include...
- Face Coverings
- Physical Distancing (3 ft while in class)
- Regular and frequent hand-washing
- A safe and distanced school entry
- Socially distanced lunch routine
- A mask-free recess
- An organized dismissal
As last year, we are all partners in keeping school open and kids safe and healthy.

MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Support)
At a Glance
MTSS is a framework many schools use to provide targeted support to struggling students.
The goal of MTSS is to intervene early so students can catch up with their peers.
It screens all students and aims to address academic and behavior challenges.
Read a message regarding MTSS from Mr. Danford right here.
