The 2013 Colorado Flood

During the week of September 9, with over 9 dead

From September 9-11th, over 21 inches of rain was recorded in many Colorado cities. Several dams broke, and rivers overflowed making the tragic flood worse.

People were injured, missing or even dead. Nearly 20,000 homes were destroyed. At least 50 bridges were destroyed and more than 500 roadways were damaged. Underground sewage systems overflowed and for many people, there is little clean, safe drinking water. The reparations of the flood are estimated to cost over a billion dollars.
