No need to wait! Kindergarten Enrollment Now Open!
All HRE families are invited to enroll incoming Kindergarten students for the 2020-2021 school year. Students must be five years old on or before August 1, 2020. Hamilton Southeastern Schools allows parents to enroll their child as “early entrance to kindergarten” if they turn five (5) years of age between August 2nd and September 1st of the enrolling school year. Parents will need to submit an Application for Early Entrance to Kindergarten prior to enrollment. The appeal process automatically grants eligibility for early entrance to kindergarten to any child who will be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st of the enrolling year as verified by an official birth certificate.
To enroll your student, go to your current SKYWARD account and look for the tab labeled "New Student Online Enrollment". If you don't have an account or will be new to HRE, please click the link below to begin the process:
https://www.hseschools.org/about/enrollment
Be prepared to scan and upload the following documents:

HRE will still be hosting a traditional "Kindergarten Open House" on Thursday, April 30th from 5:00-7:00 PM. All families in the community may come to meet our Kindergarten teachers, tour the building and even take a ride on a school bus!

4th Grade Music Program Information
On Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m. our fourth graders are performing their last performance in elementary school called “On the Radio.” Our HRE 4th grade will be spinning tunes from the 1920's, 40's, 50’s, 60's, and the 80's on our KYDZ radio station.
Every class will need to dress in a specific era. I am asking for student’s costumes to be as close to the specific era that they can get to and these are due no later than March 25th. Items from home or Grandparent’s closets are places that have been encouraged to find items. In class we also have been watching TV shows/movies that show examples of what was worn in these past years.
We will have a day performance for our HRE student body only on March 25th. Costumes are encouraged (but not required) for the school day performance. Our evening performance does require all students to be in costume according to the era that their class is dressing in.

A Message from the Librarian
We are starting a reading program called "For the Love of Reading." Students who read 5 books and keep track of their reading log can collect a book mark that gets them 30 minutes of free jumping at Skyzone. Any children who do not want bookmarks can choose a heart eraser. This will continue through the end of the school year.
