Your Support is Making A Difference
Here's How!
First Quarter Recap!
It's hard to believe Spring is here! We hope 2019 has been off to a great start for you! At the Lynne Mitchell Foundation we have been busy with various projects at Seaview Primary School, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Here's just a few of the highlights!
From High School to College - We've Been There For Ashanique & Ashaylia
Our very first scholarship recipients back in 2013 successfully finished high school in June 2018 and they are off to a great start in college.
Ashanique, a freshman at Northern Caribbean University pursuing a degree in tourism and hospitality management ended her first semester with a GPA of 3.56! Way to go Ashanique! We are so proud of you! Keep up the great work!
Ashaylia started her first semester at the University of Technology in January and she is pursuing a degree in Marketing. Ashaylia recently wrote to tell us how grateful she is for our financial support: "I just got the news that you sent the money to pay off all the school fees for this semester. Thank you so much, I am so grateful for this!! I don't think you understand how much we appreciate all this. Thank you so much. I'm trying so hard and things like these motivate me even more to push through. I'm forever grateful."
We recognize that we are making a difference and none of this would be possible without your generous support! Thank you. We are forever grateful!
STUDENT ATHLETES AT PLAY!
"On behalf of Seaview Primary and Infant - our Sports Committee wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the Lynne Mitchell Foundation for the tremendous support in this year's Sports Day.
Our Sports Day was one with a difference ... having our own music, igloo, batons, medals, financial assistance etc. It surely eased our burdens and made this a successful event.
Thank you!" ~ Paula Salmon - Sports Coordinator
In addition to Sport's Day, the students competed in various sports competitions, and placed well in all of them. Win or lose, we are proud of how dedicated the students are to honing their skills and at the same time, enjoying the comradery with their fellow classmates.
BUILDING A SECURITY GUARD POST FOR SAFETY
Come rain or shine, the security guard at Seaview Primary School is stationed at the entrance of school property to greet students, teachers and visitors and ensure only authorized personnel are on the property. Prior to our assistance, the guard stood in the hot sun or even the rain. Now with shelter from the elements, the guard can focus on the job at hand. We know, the structure still needs to be painted ~ and it will be!
OUR BACK PACK DRIVE IS NOW UNDERWAY!
We currently need to raise $7,000 to purchase brand new pack packs and school supplies for the students at Seaview Primary School for the upcoming 2020 - 2021 School Year. We need your help to reach our goal. A Donation of $30 buys a student a Back Pack & School Supplies. This is the 7th Year of our Drive and each year when we arrive to distribute the back packs and school supplies, we are greeted by parents and students who always remind us how truly grateful they are for our assistance! If you have supported our Back Pack Drive in the past, we thank you and look forward to your continued support! If you haven't yet supported this effort, right now is your chance to join us so that together we can Do Something to Make a Difference! Thank you in advance for your help!
