  • Remember, you can edit, ask questions, or visit with us as much as needed during the registration window. If Mrs. Shaw is busy you then reach out to our secretary Mrs. Galloway at mgalloway@saacharter.org She will strive to return your email within 24 hours during business days.

  • Please note that 8th graders started this process today during their advisory and 7th graders will start tomorrow.

As a charter school with limited enrollment, we have many classes that are only offered once. Please be patient with the process and understand that you and your student may be faced with difficult decisions in choosing conflicting classes offered. “Oh, how we wish we could clone Mr. Whipple!” There are great benefits to a small school and with that also comes some limitations.

Our goal is to align our registration process to that of other schools and your student's future High School. We are excited about the possibility that the majority of our students will be fully registered for their classes before they leave for summer. If you are not registered within the registration window, your student will run the risk of not getting into all their desired classes. However, we will still be available to help complete their schedule if you need assistance beyond the registration window. We are here to partner with you to help find solutions.

Calling all Coaches!!!

Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young men and women? Quality coaches are instrumental in the development of our students as they learn sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, social skills, and sports specific skills.

We will be interviewing all individuals who are interested in coaching Girls’ Soccer, Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country, and Girls’ Volleyball next Fall at the junior high school. These are paid positions for a head coach and an assistant coach for soccer and volleyball and a head cross country coach. The season runs approximately from August 21 to October 6. (6-7 weeks) All coaches must pass a background check and attend a coaches training meeting prior to working with our athletes.

If you are interested, or if you know of community members interested in these positions, please contact Art Hansen (principal) at alhansen@saacharter.org or 801 784-5211 by May 19.

Resources to help your Child

Parent Guidance is a great resource to help parents support their child’s mental health. Parents have access to free online courses taught by licensed therapists and to Ask a Therapist where parents can submit questions and receive clinician responses. The resources are free, but setting up an account using an email is required. Some of the topics covered are listed in this document.

Talk To Tweens

The free “Talk to Tweens” program, which is part of Intermountain Primary Children’s “Hold On To Dear Life” child safety initiative, provides a variety of tips and tools for teachers and parents to nurture in middle-school-aged children as they grow into adolescents. These free, downloadable resources are available at TalkToTweens.org and in Spanish at hableconsusjovenes.org.
