Thrivers Book Club
We are excited to introduce a collaborative book club for English Village and Lakeshore Families. We will be reading the book Thrivers and then holding 2 evening book discussions.

Lakeshore Soup-er Bowl
Lakeshore leaders are collecting canned goods for our Greece Central Food Pantry starting 1/22/24. Each grade level is challenged to see who can bring in the 100 items first.
Lakeshore through the years
We are diligently working on preparing our timeline of Lakeshore through the years. We need some additional pictures, newspaper articles or papers from prior to 1995. Please share this flyer or our facebook post so we can get the word out. Please send over materials by 1/26/24.
3rd Graders Participate in Fire Safety lessons
3rd Graders participated in fire safety lessons this week. They learned about what to do in an emergency, when and how to call 911 and about fire safety. Thank you to our local fire department for visiting and talking to students.

Grand Opening of Family Resource Center
Lakeshore and Community Schools is very excited to invite families to celebrate the Grand Opening of our Famiy Resource Center located on campus at Lakeshore. Visit during this event to enjoy dinner, meet other Lakeshore families, talk to community school staff and our Lakeshore administration. We cannot wait to share with you the resources we have available and what Community Schools provides at Lakeshore.
Lakeshore Family Skate Night
Please join us for the Lakeshore Family Skate Night at Horizon Fun FX. No registration is required and payment is made at the door. We look forward to seeing all our Families at this event.

We hope you consider joining our PTA this year. Membership is one per family/household; you do not need separate memberships for multiple parents in the household. The more members we have the stronger we are and the more people we can reach so that we can best support our Lakeshore kids!

Thrivers Book Study
The Parent Coordinators and the Assistant Principals are reading the book Thrivers by Michele Borba - in the near future we will be having a book club with families. (more info on this soon) In the meantime we will be featuring quotes from the book or activity you can do with your child, please check in each week for information:

Families, We Want Your Input!
Please click here to complete the GCSD Family Perception Survey by Friday February 9th for your school. This annual anonymous survey helps our district to understand how families feel about their school. Question categories include culture, relationships, safety, instruction, and discipline.
By completing the survey, you can enter to win an accompanying sweepstakes for a chance to win a grant prize of $100 Visa gift card courtesy of the Center for Youth. To enter the sweepstakes please email your name, and phone number to parent.helpline@greececsd.org and mention that you are entering the Family Perception Survey Sweepstakes by February 9th. You do not need to complete the survey to enter.
Childcare Transportation Department Applications due 4/1/24
The Transportation Department is taking applications for Childcare for the 24-25 school year. Applications can be submitted by visiting here Applications are due April 1, 2024. Families had until July 1st in previous years to get us this information but it is now due April 1st, which is the due date identified by SED.
UPK Registration Open
Children who will be four years old on or before December 1, 2024 are eligible for our free Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) programming during the 2024-2025 school year.
The UPK application opens on January 12, 2024 and applications are due March 1, 2024. Click here to complete the application or call 966-2472 to have a printed application mailed to you.

Athletic Opportunities within Greece
We have some upcoming opportunities for your child to get involved with activities outside of school. Please find the attached flyer for soccer and/or lacrosse opportunities within the Greece Community. No experience is required!
