News from Conyers Learning Academy
November 9th, 2021
Dear CLA Families,
It has been a busy last few weeks at CLA and it only gets busier as we get closer to our Fall and Winter Breaks. Our students and staff had a blast celebrating our Fall Spirit week, which was capped off by our costume parade on Friday 10/29. Even though the rain did not cooperate, we were still able to have a blast indoors. Our halls and classrooms were filled with some of the cutest princesses, superheroes, Disney characters, witches, and so much more.
Now that we are over a week into November and the weather has begun to get colder, please remember to dress your child in layers and clothes warm enough for them to play outside each day. Our goal is to have all of our students outside each day for their gross motor and recess time. We need your help to make sure everyone has clothes appropriate for outdoor play. If you need help finding warm clothes, coats, hats, boots, and gloves for your child, please contact your classroom teacher or the office for resources and support.
Over the next 6 weeks, we have a number of important dates coming up soon we want all of our families to know about.
Nov. 10th - Picture Retakes at CLA
Nov. 15th - EARLY CHILDHOOD ONLY - Non-Attendance Day Monday
Nov. 22nd + Nov. 23rd - Parent Teacher Conferences - NO SCHOOL for students

CLA’s PTA News
CLA had their first PTA Meeting on Oct. 27th. We had a great turnout for our first meeting and we are hoping to have even more at our next meeting. For anyone who was not able to attend, here is a link to the agenda and minutes for the meeting.
CLA PTA Meeting - 10/27/21 Agenda and Minutes
We will be hosting our next meeting on Dec. 1st at 6:30 PM. Parents will be able to join the meeting virtually to allow for more families to join from home or on the go. We will be discussing additional opportunities for parents to get involved at school, future fundraising events, dine and share nights, and other PTA sponsored events for the year. In addition, we will be holding a PTA Board election for anyone interested in taking on a leadership role in the PTA. We have a few volunteers already, but we are looking for more. Please reach out to Matt Warren if you are interested in learning more about the roles of the PTA at CLA and D15.
If your family is not yet a member of the CLA PTA, it’s not too late! Families can sign up throughout the year by going to the CLA’s PTA Membership Signup.
We hope to see you there on Dec. 1st for our next meeting!
