Name: Catherine the Great or Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt-Zerbst-Dornburg.
Date of birth: May 2nd, 1729.
Death: November 17th, 1796.
Special traits or qualities: ambitious, hard worker, courageous, intelligent, and logical.
Fame: longest ruling female leader of Russia.
Claim to fame: Came to Russia at the age of 14 but without any knowledge of the language she had to learn it. Later in life came the most powerful woman in the world. She was a very good leader and this made her famous. Her husband was assassinated leading her to become emperor.

Married: Grand Duke Peter or Peter III in 1745.
How was the marriage: unhappy with little evidence of love or even affection, because of lack of affection, both spouses turned to other people for love. Many people believed that because of these affairs that Catherine the Great's children and what was claimed as Peter III's children, were not actually fathered by Peter. Throughout her life, Catherine had as many as 21 other lovers while with Peter. She had three kids, two boys and a girl with the father not necessarily proven.
