A meteorologist is... a person that studies the weather (i.e. tornadoes, rain), and broadcasts their weather predictions on television. Yep that is right, YOU get to tell people on TV what your weather predictions are. This career helps the people know what to wear according to the predicted weather.

What do you need to be a meteorologist?

You need a bachelor's degree in meteorology or atmospheric science, at the minimum. You need a PhD for basic research positions. The people who could get the job are: fascinated with weather-related events, analytical skills, and an ability to communicate scientific results in plain language.
