The Triton Tribune - Parent Edition
Be Kind ~ Be Awesome ~ Make The Right Choices
Volume 2 ~ Issue 23~ January 25, 2021
Amazing Triton Families,
This is the Great Kindness Challenge Week!
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – Dr Seuss
ELM's mantra is Be Kind ~ Be Awesome ~ Make The Right Choices. In creating this mantra, much thought was placed on the order of the acts. If we are kind, then we are being awesome and we ultimately make the right choices. Additionally, ELM staff typically starts each week with promoting Kindness Monday. One would think that the idea of being kind is a no brainer, but because we are all different, being kind comes natural to some while for others, being kind requires more thought and effort. However, it does not matter how we arrive at kindness, as long as our behaviors reflect the good in all of us.
The power of kindness is underestimated. It is highly contagious and makes people feel good. Nobel Laureate, Albert Schweitzer said this, "Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun melts the ice, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.'
As we begin this week, I hope that each of you will read the section on the Great Kindness Challenge and participate either individually or as a family to perform one act of kindness daily.
Additionally, due to the high COVID-19 rates, the district is not allowing any non-essential drive through events; therefore, all semester academic honors will be sent home via mail. Thank you for your understanding.
January 25 marks the beginning of the in-person support for at-risk student. If your child has been approved for coming on campus for academic support AND you have accepted, please make sure that they are at school by 8:45am with ample time to check in.
Finally, read the section on submitting your child's yearbook portrait by the end of this week. If you are 8th grade parent, you will also have the opportunity buy an ad to honor your child. All information are in the yearbook section.
Let's have an amazing week!
