Garden Update

In case you haven't seen it for yourself, you might want to go check out the ORMS cactus garden (in the corner of the school behind the outdoor basketball court) to see the brilliant red flowers of the ocotillo. If you are a regular of West Texas, you know how breathtaking it is to catch the ocotillos in full bloom! But, you don't have to travel there to see one, because we have one here! Ms. Beabout believes this is the first year ours has ever bloomed! And, we are not the only ones who are benefiting; Coach Williams even observed a hummingbird enjoying its nectar last week!

The third picture is from March of last year so you know what it looked like before. Although it has been slow, we have made so much progress!

Ms. Beabout and Ms. Redwine want to say thank you to all of those who continue to support and appreciate these valuable gardening projects around our campus!

Pursuit of Passion

The beginning of April had 8th grade students jumping into their Pursuit of Passion project for the Expo where they have to show what they would do for their future careers. At the Expo some dressed up, passed out business cards, gave out prizes, candy or desserts if they were asked insightful questions by NBMS. It was so great to see what our 8th grade students' goals are for the future.

Spring Evaluations

Friday, May 25th, 3:30pm

Oak Run Point

New Braunfels, TX

Teachers and students are required to fill out an evaluation on their participation in the GT program in May. This year students will also receive evaluations from other core and elective teachers so that we get a complete picture of how their gifts are demonstrated in all classes. The evaluations will not be mailed this year. Instead they will go home in a large envelope with students.

Ms. Hunt, Librarian and GT Facilitator

Please contact me or your child's advisory teacher if you have any questions or concerns about the GT program at ORMS.
