Aiming to Keep You Informed

January 31, 2020

From the Office

Thank you to all of the parents who completed the 5 Essentials survey! If you have not had the opportunity to do so, the window is open until February 14th. This week, our students also completed the 5 Essentials Student survey. We value the input from our students and will use the feedback from all of our stakeholders to help shape the learning environment at Westfield.

We would like to give a shout out to our Cheer and Poms teams! They have practiced hard and do a fabulous job of energizing the crowd & supporting their peers during our games! Mark your calendar: The Westfield Cheerleaders will complete at Medinah Middle School on February 8 starting at 11am against other area middle school cheer squads! Good luck to the girls and coaches.

8th Grade - Business Education

Next week, eighteen Lake Park students, led by former alumni of Westfield Nicole Cozzi and Abhi Patel, will be coming to teach a series of courses on business education to our 8th graders. These Lake Park students have created an engaging and interactive one week lesson plan to teach your students about finance, marketing, hospitality/retail, and DECA. DECA is a competitive business club offered at Lake Park that prepares students for the real-world of business. We are very excited to partner with Lake Park to provide this opportunity for our 8th graders!

REMINDER for TOMORROW: February 1st, Dr. Bartelt will host a Community Coffee here at Westfield in the library from 8am-9:30am! You can enter through the main doors. See flyer below for more information.

This Sunday, February 2, 2020 is Groundhog Day. Let's hope that the "prognosticator of prognosticator's" Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring!

Have a wonderful weekend!
