Story told by Ethan
Saratoga the actual turning point ,Hero's to remember ,and the winning side. The American general and the british defeat.
The turning point
The DIVIDE-AND-CONQUER strategy that Burgoyne presented to British ministers in London was to invade America from Canada by advancing down the Hudson Valley to Albany. There, he would be joined by other British troops under the command of Sir William Howe. Howe would be bringing his troops north from New Jersey and New York City. But when it all went wrong things went down hill thus given the name the turning point.
Hero's to remember
Less than 800 men died in that battle thats 800 to many but these men gave there lives for a better America and thats exactly what we have thanks to them. Among the few of the 800 are some of the most brave, scared, and most highly respected men in the army. The Americans lost 800 men and the british lost about 1500.
The winning side
October 7, 1777 The battle has ended. The british General John Burgoyne surrendered 5,000 British and hessian troops to the American General Horatio Gates.General John Burgoyne had lost 86 percent of his expeditionary force that had triumphantly marched into New York from Canada in the early summer of 1777.This victory is a major accomplishment leaving the Americans with the 4th won battle in the war . This is just one of the many battles that America won .
