John F Kennedy
In John F Kennedy's first speech when he became president, he told that he was going to be continuing the policy of the former president, Dwight Eisenhower. He also stated that he supported the domino effect. And that he was convinced that if the south Vietnam fell to the Communism. John F Kennedy received contemplating advice regarding the Vietnam war. Charles De Gaulle had warned Kennedy that Vietnam and the warfare would trap them in a bottomless pit. This was all based off of what had happend in the past involving the French in Dien Bien Phu. In 1961 Kennedy had agreed that America should increase the size of the Vietnam war. The strategic Hamlet program, This failed really bad and drove a number of south Vietnamese peasants into supporting the North Vietnam Communists.
Richard Nixon
Richard Nixon was introduced into office in the year 1969. Richard Nixon created and introduced a new strategy called the Vietnamization that was aimed for ending American involvement in the Vietnam War. Then towards the end of that Nixon created a new method called Vietnamization US secretary of defense Melvin Laird. The march 1972 Easter Offensive made crystal clear that the poor performance of the south Vietnamese army and its insanely heavy reliance on heavy US air power to repeal the communist attack. In April 1970, the President secretly authorized bombing campaigns and ground invasion of neutral Cambodia.
