Happy Friday, Lil Steamer Families!

WHAT. A. WHIRLWIND.
The past two weeks have been unbelievable for our school district. Most of us without power THE WEEK BEFORE SCHOOL and then working relentlessly for three days to get our buildings and classrooms ready for the most uncertain start to the school year EVER.
But what we have seen is a group of dedicated professionals embody the #WEDOTHEWORK mantra and work tirelessly to make our little elementary school ready for the first day of the school year. The start of the school year is always filled with such excitement, wonder, and joy for the school year. I applaud our staff's efforts in making our start this year such an amazing one.
We look forward to this school year and will be communicating updates and changes regularly as they happen. Be sure to read through the newsletter as most of that information will be communicated here.
JAGH
Parents & Full Remote Learning Students
From the desk of: Mrs. Meumann
I had the opportunity to visit each classroom the last couple of days and welcome everyone back. I was able to explain exactly what a counselor does. I used a smore as a visual to explain this. The bottom cracker is for support. I support the students and encourage them to see me if they are struggling. The chocolate is the sweet part. The sweet part of my job is working with the students. The marshmallows are the students. I explained how I see students individually and in groups to help them to work through anything they may be struggling with. I also make monthly visits to their classrooms to talk about friendship, responsibility, and problem solving. The top cracker holds it all together. Sometimes students may feel like their world is falling apart. I am here to support those students and to help them to develop strategies and coping skills to work through it.
