Alms for the Poor - December 2, 2015

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Dear Parents,

It has been a difficult and sad week as we deal with the passing of our music teacher, Carole Hirsch. Miss Hirsch taught music here for over 29 years. In her gift of music she has the touched the hearts of many students, faculty, parents, and community members. We are grateful for the gifts that she has shared with us over the years. Indeed she was a good and faithful servant. She will be missed by many.

Today was particularly difficult as students took the time to remember her and pray for her and each other. Thank you for sharing the sad news with your children last night. Such news is best received in the safety of their homes by the people who love them most. A grief counselor was with us today to assist as needed. We held a beautiful prayer service today at 10:00 put together by our own staff members. It was a beautiful tribute to the person we call Miss Hirsch.

Thank you for the prayers, cards, calls, emails, food, flowers, and other expressions of your care and concern for our staff. It is so heart-warming! By the grace of God we continue to serve one another.

Funeral arrangements can be found in the STAR today. Our staff members would like to attend the prayer service scheduled at 3:30 on Friday, Dec. 4. Dismissal on Friday, Dec. 4 will begin at 2:45 instead of 3:00 giving the teachers a little extra time to travel to the Prayer Service. After School Care will still be available from 2:45 – 5:30. Thank you for your attention to this detail.

Thank you again for holding us up in prayer. We need it and we feel your support.
