January Catch of the Month

Congratulations to Coach Christi Janecek for being the KMS January Staff Catch of the Month! Coach Janecek teaches 6th grade science and is a Girls Athletic Coach. This is her first year at KMS, and she has started our after school Guppy mentoring program.

Important - February 17th Calendar Change

At the December 16, 2013, regular meeting of the KISD Board of Trustees, the decision was made to modify the date of one of the two bad weather days built into the 2013-14 school calendar by changing the February 17, 2014 bad weather day to December 20, 2013. This was done to allow any families, students, and employees of KISD the opportunity to attend the Football State Championship Game in Arlington to support our boys. Therefore, Monday, February 17, 2014, will be a regular school day. Thank you for the tremendous support so many of you showed our football team, band, Hi-Steppers and all of our students as they made us proud at the championship game.

Got Chrome?

Students in Mr. Brian Johnson's 6th grade S.S. class are participating in research on a class set of Chromebooks. The class set was purchased with grant funds provided by the KISD Education Foundation.

Thank you KISD Education Foundation!

Talk about Problem Solving!

Students in robotics had to create radio towers with a receiver, using only spaghetti sticks and mini marshmallows.

Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures Revisited

Morning Drop Off Procedures

Students should be dropped off in the front of the building. They should exit their vehicle any where along the front of the building. There is room for approximately 10 cars to unload. This will help speed up the drop off process.

Afternoon Drop Off Procedures

Students can only be picked up in the designated area in the front of the school. We are having problems with students walking to other parking lots to be picked up. Since the safety of your child is our number one priority, we are only able to monitor your child in the front of the school. Once they walk off school grounds, we are not responsible for them.

Thank you for your help in ensuring our students are safe!
